Jay is a former Initiate Justice Inside Organizer. As an Inside Organizer, he helped lead organizational campaigns inside of state prison while incarcerated, advised other incarcerated people about organizational changes, new state legislation, and CDCR policy updates. Also, he was responsible for informing incarcerated folks about Initiate Justice action items, and organizing members to execute these action items.

Today, Jay is a graduate of the Institute of Impacted Leaders (Fresno 2021 cohort). Now as an IJ Outside Organizer, he helps organize from the outside. Jay is committed to community service and the abolition of the marginalization of BIPOC. Jay is also currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Social Justice and Community Organizing (SJOC)..
