Assembly Bill 1986 was introduced by Assemblymember Bryan. This bill will require the Inspector General to post the list of books that have been banned by CDCR on the office’s internet website. The bill will also authorize the Inspector General to review banned books and determine whether there is a legitimate penological reason for the book to be banned, and if not, to remove the book from the banned list.
